Blaise Pascal was a 17th century French theologian, writer, physicist, inventor and mathematician credited with the idea for the digital calculator!!
His death mask like other famous figures from history will have been used by artists and sculptors as a reference when creating a piece of work so as to give an accurate image of the person.
This hugely decorative antique plaster death mask is an excellent example. The features of the face are clear and well defined and would make for a most interesting wall decoration .
Condition commensurate with age.
