A small Parian bust of the poet Alfred Tennyson, 1st Baron Tennyson FRS (1809 –1892) by Robinson & Leadbeater. Height 20cm (7¾“)
He was Poet Laureate of Great Britain and Ireland from 1850 until his death. According to Wikipedia, he is the ninth most frequently quoted writer in The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations.
This bust is illustrated in the “Parian Phenomenon” Page 231 Figure 757.
Condition Very good. There is a small chip to the collar of Tennyson’s jacket on the left shoulder.
