About this item
A straight sided, Wedgwood, pale green jasper biscuit barrel, or cookie jar, with a silver plated lid and mounts. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1860. There is also a workman’s mark in the form of two impressed letter W’s. The barrel is decorated with classical maidens offering sacrifices to one side and further classical maidens around a pillar to the other. All of the reliefs are good quality and the piece is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Diameter 13.8cm. Height with handle folded down 17cm.
