About this item
A very unusual, double ended, sycamore butter print carved with geometric designs. This is probably Welsh and dates from the late 18th century. The print and handle are carved in one piece but, as well as the main, geometric design, there is also a design carved in the end of the handle. The print is not quite circular. This is probably due to slight distortion over the years and it adds character to the piece.
Condition: There are some wood worm holes, one in the face and nine to the back of the print. These have been treated and are not active. Also there is a small amount of wood missing from the sides of the print on the handle.
Welsh. Date c.1780.
Dimensions: Width 9.5cm Height 9.7cm. Length of print and handle 8.2cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £10. Most of Western Europe add £5
