About this item
An interesting, and very unusual, early 19th century, boxwood butter print. This would put a very simple, ridged design onto the top of a small block of butter. Although it is simple in form it is beautifully made, rare, and it dates from c.1820. The boxwood has a very fine grain, and a wonderful colour and patination.
It is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Length 17.8cm. Width 3.7cm. Depth 6.6cm.
