About this item
Early 20th.c. alabaster bust of young man by the French sculptor August Henri Carli (1868-1930) c.1920. Unusual head and shoulders length bust of a smiling young man with wavy hair wearing a scarf and coat. Head in clear white stone whilst the body is coloured to create a contrast between the clothing. Signed Carli on the rear. Raised on a moulded plinth (dimensions at the base 7" x 6"). Some surface scratches to the coloured portions. Otherwise very good condition.
