About this item
This is an antique book stand. An English, oak tiered cabinet in the manner of Leonard Wyburn for Liberty & Co, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Wonderfully presented, with fine oak and Aesthetic Period appeal
Displays a desirable aged patina and in very good order
Select oak shows superb figuring and chestnut hues accentuated with wisps of warm caramel
Arranged as a pair of shelves, graduated for novels and larger volumes
Turned supports with stout block shoulders anchor the shelves
Fascinating lattice side panels with beaded decoration
Riding smoothly upon a set of four brass castors
Almost certainly a Leonard Wyburn piece for Liberty & Co, but unmarked as such
This is a dashing and beautifully presented antique book stand, benefiting from superb oak stocks and quality craftsmanship. Ideally suited to host your favourite books and periodicals. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
