Blue Side Cabinet With Carved Apron

Shandong, circa 1920

The intricately carved apron at the base of this cabinet adds an elegant decorative touch, transforming its straightforward design into something distinctive. The openwork carvings showcase a longevity emblem centered between two deer motifs, both symbols in Chinese culture representing long life, wealth, and nobility. The cabinet doors fit smoothly into the wooden dowel frames above and below and feature minimalist handles, contributing to a clean, refined look suitable for various interiors. A refreshed blue-green lacquer finish complements the original, and a single removable shelf is included inside for versatile storage.
