About this item
Antique 17th century, Charles 11, brass trumpet-based candlestick. The ribbed and corded stem with mid drip pan over trumpet base. To the underside are scratch marks which are thought to record the weight of brass. This example cast in two parts connected by a screw thread (note white metal collar beneath the flanged candle holder).
