About this item
A superb example of a mid 16thc brass single candlestick known as a Heemskerk, it is made up of two parts, the upper stem and socket being one part and the wide drip tray, lower stem and the base being the second part.....it is then joined together by a long shaft which is peened over at the base.... It has two turned plain "egg" shaped knops (the ridge type ball knops are later) and is in excellent condition with no repairs.
