About this item
A superb example of a late 17thc sheet brass decorative chamberstick....sometimes known as "frying pan" types, which are quite un-English in their features and probably belong to the Low Countries....this fine example has decorative handle punchwork and the flowing leaf design is typical of Dutch design....the socket is short and is secured to the pan by three rolled copper rivets...an early feature which you also find on Warming Pans of this date and earlier....the brass is thick and of a good weight....overall in excellent condition with no dents or cracks....a lovely example of these hard to find pieces of early lighting...
Dutch. C1680-C1700
