    About this item

A 'rat de cave', or cellar rat, candlestick was used to light French wine cellars. The rat like handles were designed to be hung on the rim of a wine barrel. Today these decoractive and beautiful candlesticks are a wonderful addition to any home. With their wrought iron spiral corkscrew bodies on a wooden base the height of the candle is adjusted by way of a spiralling lifter.

Condition commensurate with age and use
