This is a pair of vintage centrepiece candle holders. A French, heavy plaster decorative candlestick with figural forms, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1930.
Substantial candlesticks with strong Renaissance revival overtones Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order Quality plaster forms accentuated in natural hues Great weight in the hand of 5.98kg (13.18 lb) and 5.04kg (11.1 lb) respectively Fawns frolic across the holder in superb relief, with a feminine figure reaching upwards Further decorated with ivy leaf detail, providing a climbing platform for the figures Lizards and frogs add wildlife interest to the spectacle Generous candle nozzle with a diameter of 7.5cm (3’’)This is a charming pair of vintage centrepiece candle holders, graced with striking proportion and decorative appearance.
