About this item
Stunning pair of Matthew Boulton style candelabras in ormolu
Stand in at nearly three feet tall so large pair
The elegant foliate branches terminate in acanthus-leaf sconces, supporting candle nozzles above finely detailed drip pans
The stems are fluted and tapering, leading down to shaped bases with bold rococo-style scroll feet and crisp cast ornament throughout
Matthew Boulton was a pioneering English maker of neoclassical ormolu candelabra, whose Soho Manufactory in Birmingham produced exquisitely crafted gilt bronze lighting of exceptional refinement and international renown in the late 18th century
Intricately cast and the gold finish really makes these stand out
