This is an antique Canterbury stand. An English, mahogany three sectioned magazine or newspaper rack, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1900.
Exuberant craftsmanship, ideal for the living room or conservatory
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Select stocks show fine grain interest and deep caramel hues
Quality wax polish finish applied throughout
Striking pierced fretwork with lyre shaped motif accentuate the rack
Rolled handles to each end unite the sections with turned baluster rails
Useful drawer to base adds further storage, dressed with decorative circular brass pulls
Raised upon squat, turned legs and riding smoothly upon brass castors to each corner
This is an attractive antique Canterbury stand, with great colour and expressive craftsmanship. Of useful size for several publications or sheet music if required. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
