About this item
A very rare silverleaf framed 18th century French mirror with carved wood frame decorated with a raised, overlapping leaf design and square corners topped with a central rosette. The silverleaf was laid over a dark red bole base and the silverleaf has thinned over the years revealing the dark red under layer. The mercury mirror plate has some gentle age and the mirror's back has been replaced re-using hand-made nails to secure it.
