About this item
An elegant and very pretty, reclaimed, cast iron bedroom fire surround dating to the Edwardian era. The surround has an ornate design with a repeating flower and leaf pattern. The mantel has a curved shape and the top of the fire opening is arched. The decorative main area below the mantel has a gentle curve outwards. The fire surround has two fixing lugs on each side and there are wall tabs at the back of the mantel, although one is now broken. The fire surround is in good reclaimed condition with some small signs of age, as expected. The surround has some small knocks, scratches and casting marks. The back appears to have been painted red but there is some surface rust visible. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround is of a good petite size and will add great period character to a bedroom.
