     A 19th century Anglo Indian carved hardwood(possibly padouk) centre table.The fine coloured top with intricately carved frieze.The base having four superbly carved shaped supports in the shape of mythological lions(?) with gaping mouths and claw feet on scrolled supports,all surrounding a central turned pillarThe table is in wonderful condition with fine colour and patina and although designed as an impressive centre piece could also be dined at,it stands on hidden castors so can easily be moved and the top hinges on screw-in bolts that are removed to take the table apart for transport.Circa 1840 and possibly from the Bombay area.
