A fine quality William IVth (circa 1830) rosewood centre or writing table, of Gillows style and quality - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
This table consists of a finely figured rosewood top leading down to a shaped moulded edge with bead moulding below.
The table base having two finely executed trestle supports, each trestle with carved rosette to the centre and turned and carved columns to either side with stylised foliate carved decoration, this typical of the William IVth period.
The supports having scrolling carved brackets with turned paterae below, terminating with gadroon bun feet, the two supports joined by a central carved and turned stretcher.
This table is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
