BROWN STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFERWARE PLATE

This plate measures 9 3/8 ” wide and is crisply transfer printed in a dark brown against a white background.
Wonderful scalloped edge. The central image depicts an etruscan vase or urn in a classical setting. The exquisite urn is surrounded by wonderful flowers and cartouches of exotic landscapes.
This plate was produced by either Thomas Mayer in the Staffordshire district of England.
Never Used. Condition is good. The contrast and composition is especially beautiful in this rich brown transfer.
