About this item
A rare Derby porcelain butter dish of rectangular form with canted corners with original cover with moulded grooved strap handle. Painted with garden flowers of roses and tulips with matching decoration to the cover and red-brown rims. c.1760.
It measures 12cm (4 3/4") by 9cm (3 1/2") wide and 9.5cm (3 3/4") high.
In very good condition: a tiny area of invisible restoration to the bottom edge of the tub and some good quality restoration to the handle. A few small chips to the flange on the underside of the cover and a nick to the outer rim. Minor handling wear except to the brown rim on the tub which is more worn.
