    FOUR VERY LARGE AESTHETIC GREEN TRANSFERWARE PLATES

    KEW GARDENS PATTERN

    Hall and Read Potteries

    Burslem, Staffordshire England

    c. 1883

    These Victorian aesthetic very large 10 3/4 " plates are transfer printed in delicious dark green. The clear and crisp pattern features massive orchid blossoms surrounded by other exquisite flowers and rows of basket weave and geometric ribbons. Spectacular pattern! Named after the famous Kew Gardens across the Thames River from London proper and was established in 1759.

    The piece is marked on the underside with an impressed registration mark, the pattern name and trademark that identifies the maker as Hall and Read, a pottery maker working in Burslem in the Staffordshire region of England during the 19th century.

    Excellent Condition and are clean shiny and bright.
