About this item
GREAT AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE PLATTER
BURMAH PATTERN
W. H. Grindley and Co. Potteries
Tunstall, Staffordshire England
c. 1883
This Victorian aesthetic 14 1/8 " long x 10 1/8 " wide platter is transfer printed in rich dark chocolate brown against a creamy white background.
The pattern features a Japanesque water scene with water lilies and cattails, outrageous bamboo and birds, and butterflies flitting throughout the transfer. Geometric shapes mixed with exotic flowers complete the wonderful platter.
Condition is great. Clean and bright and shiny. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs. A few stray utensil marks.
