About this item
An amusing Victorian ceramic cigar barrel
The cream coloured barrel with the word “Segars” in gilded letters and with gilded and green details. The lid of the barrel has an amusing handle in the form of Bacchus’s head complete with fruiting vine head dress and a slightly drunken expression. Circa 1860. 19cm high.
Condition: The piece is not signed but is marked on the base with a C or horseshoe mark and there is a written “41 ½” on the inside lid. The overall condition is excellent apart from obvious wear to the gilded areas.
