An unusual 19th ceentury Dutch Delft
blue and white tobacco jar and metal cover
resembling a beehive. Decorated with a scene
of 2 native tobacco smokers each side of a
cartouche entitled "CAROTTE"
Underglaze mark for De Klaauw " The claw"
A carotte of tobacco resembles a carrot when traditionally
finished using a perique of tobacco,canvas & rope
Excellent condition
