A charming ancient Proto-Corinthian Lekythos. Hand made in Greece and dating from circa.500 BC. decorated with Palmette motifs. An incredible 2200 years old, a real piece of human history. Formally of a London Gentleman's collection formed in the 1960's. The piece has wear to the surface and a chip to the foot so doesn't stand I have always had it in a cabinet laying on its side but you can use a small piece of blue tack to make it stand as shown in the images. 13.5cms tall and 6.5cms diameter.
