About this item
A very pretty Samuel Alcock pot pourri vase decorated in an apple green and pale salmon ground with ornate rococo style side handles and a domed pierced cover with quatrefoil shaped knop formed from overlapping leaves. Stood on a shaped footed base. Each side has a large reserve, one finely painted with a landscape and the other with a fabulous array of colourful garden flowers. Marked to the base with pattern number 2 over 9898 in purple enamel. c.1840.
It measures 21cm (8 1/4") high and 13.3cm (5 1/4") by 11.5cm (4 1/2") wide.
Condition is excellent with no damage, repair or restoration and handling wear is minimal to all areas including the green enamelled ground, gilding and the finely painted reserves.
