STAFFORDSHIRE BLACK TRANSFERWARE PLATE
TUSCAN ROSE PATTERN
John and William Ridgway Potteries
Staffordshire, England 1814 - 1837
This outstanding plate measures 9 " in diameter and ready for use or display. It is crisply transfer printed in a black with a pearlware glaze.
The plate has a wonderful scalloped beaded edge and a border pattern of a multitude of oversized flowers cascading into the well. The central image is of a large bouquet in a baroque scrolled basket and trellis of over scaled flowers with a magnificent Butterfly flitting overhead.
The plate displays beautifully and is in great shape.
