    About this item

A Bloor period Derby porcelain tea cup and saucer in the London shape, c.1820. A slightly hotch potch pattern of pale and dark vine leaves off a rather crude squiggly gilt vine with dotted bunches of grapes and interspersed with finely painted Duesbury type pink roses. Gilt around the rims and handle detail. Red marks to the bases.

    The cup measures 5.7cm (2 1/4") high to the rim and 9.1cm (3 9/16") rim to rim. The saucer measures 14.4cm (5 5/8") wide and 3.2cm (1 1/8") high.

In very good condition with no damage, repair or restoration and minimal handling wear. The saucer is finely crazed from manufacture, as is the glaze to the cup handle and here there is a small element of associated discolouration. A small firing fault inside the base of the cup.
