    Josiah Wedgwood Staffordshire England 1874

    This is a stunning early Aesthetic movement transferware large 10 1/4 inch plate. Transfer printed in Van Dyke brown, a bittersweet chocolate shade and further enhanced by earthy hand painted colors with a cream ivoryware earthenware pottery typical of the Josiah Wedgwood factory in the Staffordshire potting district of England.  Decorated with a lush kaleidoscopic botanical image of peony flowers. The peonies are interwoven can converge in the center. 

    Never Used.  The plate is in great condition.  Very clean.
