AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE RAISED CAKE PLATE
BURMAH PATTERN
W. H. Grindley and Co. Potteries
Tunstall, Staffordshire England
c. 1883
This Victorian aesthetic 9 1/8 " x 8 3/8 " cake or serving plate / platter is transfer printed in rich brown.
The clear and crisp BURMAH pattern features a Japanesque water scene with water lilies and cattails, outrageous bamboo and birds, and butterflies flitting throughout the transfer. Geometric shapes mixed with exotic flowers complete the wonderful piece. Great Condition.
