BROWN TRANSFERWARE PITCHER OR JUG
NORMAN PATTERN
Burgess and Leigh ~ Hill Pottery
Staffordshire England 1872
This Victorian English 7 1/2 inches tall x 4 1/2 inches wide, excluding the applied handle, is transfer printed in the dark brown.
The pattern features repeating geometric designs and flower insets along the border. Around the jug is a magnificent castle and stems of wildflowers. A vignette of a punt and a sailboat traversing a lake with a distant landscape.
The pitcher displays beautifully and is in great condition. Appears to have never been used.
