Bruno Gambone Bowl in White and Bronze Glaze 1960s
A great piece of Italian ceramic design from the 1960s by leading exponent Bruno Gambone. Glazed white on the outside and extended rim of the bowl, it also has a bronze glaze interior.
Excellent used condition with no damage. Previous owner has put felt pads on the base.
Bruno Gambone (1936 -) is a leading ceramic artist from Italy. After his training as a potter with his father Guido Gambone he went to New York in 1963 and hung out with artists like Warhol, Rauschenberg, and Lichtenstein absorbing many of the artistic ideas of the time. He returned to Italy in 1968 and ran a ceramics studio in Florence making highly sculptural pieces. He is now recognised world wide for his ceramic designs.
