About this item
EARLY CHILDS BLACK TRANSFERWARE PITCHER JUG
SAMUEL
Staffordshire England
c. 1840
This delightful named jug stands 2 1/4" high x 2 3/8" wide excluding the applied handle. The name " SAMUEL " is transfered on the front of the pitcher.<p>
One side has a transfer of a young lass with his dog, his best friend. The other side of the small jug has a young boy teaching his best friend his dog, new tricks. Daisy chain transfers follow the rim inside and out as well as on the handle.
The jug is in remarkable condition, only a very tiny flake off the underside of the rim.
