About this item
A very nice example of a large size Caughley porcelain leaf shape pickle dish decorated with the ever popular "fisherman" / "pleasure boat" pattern, c.1780-1795. Moulded leaf vein detail to the underside and serrated edge. Unmarked.
Reference: Caughley & Worcester Porcelains by Godden, plate 138.
It measures 12.2cm (4 13/16") wide, 11.5cm (4 1/2") long and 3.5cm (1 3/8") high.
Condition is excellent with no damage or restoration, unusually no chips to the rim, and minimal handling wear. There is a firing line underneath part way around the join of the foot.
