About this item
Very pretty Chamberlain's Worcester bottle shaped vase with a bright apple green ground and large reserve with a painted view of Malvern (named on the reverse). A multi layered landscape scene with the mountains in the background and sheep grazing in the fields to the fore. Gilded decoration around the edge of the reserve and spilling around the sides of the vase and gilded rim. Printed mark "CHAMBERLAIN'S WORCESTER MALVERN". c.1840.
It measures 14.5cm (5 3/4") high and 7cm (2 3/4") wide.
Condition is very good with no damage or repair. Surface wear is light in the main, a few minor marks in the green enamel. The enamelled scene is good with one tiny nick to a tree at the side. The gilding is good. There is a nick to the foot rim caused during manufacture.
