About this item
Pretty Chamberlain's porcelain tapered coffee can in the Baden shape with kidney handle. Decorated in pattern number 298 with a wide underglaze blue frieze reserving circular shapes decorated with gilt and enamels in red, green and blue in an oriental style. Ornate gilt detailing over the blue ground and as a stylised foliate border around the white ground below the main frieze and inside the rim. Pattern number painted to the underside, c.1815.
It measures 6.5cm (2 1/2") high, 8.5cm (3 5/16") rim to rim and 10.2cm (4") rim to handle.
Condition: it has had a small repair inside the rim and the gilding neatly touched up in that area, please see the final photograph. There is a 3mm tight hairline also to the rim and some minor wear to the gilding around the rim. The main decoration is in fine order and it displays very well.
