About this item
A pretty Chelsea dessert plate with shaped edge with red-brown rim and painted in bright enamels with bold floral sprays. Red anchor mark, c.1753-1758.
It measures 22cm (8 5/8") wide and 3cm (1 1/8") high.
In good condition, there have been two very small rim chips that have been filled and over painted with leaves which have faded a bit. Some surface wear in places and rubbing to the enamel on the rim. A small foot rim chip and the foot rim is ground. A couple of craze lines on the reverse from firing and as Chelsea often charmingly did to disguise firing faults, a leaf has been painted over the top.
