About this item
A very pretty Coalport coffee cup and saucer with an underglaze mazarine blue ground reserving four shaped panels on the saucer and three inside the cup finely painted with flowers and birds, resembling chaffinches it appears. Ornate gilt decoration framing the reserves and embellishing the blue ground. Pattern number 759 painted in green to the saucer.
The cup measures 6.5cm (2 1/2") high and 7.6cm (3") rim to rim. The saucer measures 14cm (5 1/2") wide and 2.8cm (1 1/16") high.
In very good condition: The cup is finely crazed and there is a very short tight glaze line and a very small amount of discolouration on the very edge of the rim in a couple of spots. The saucer has a nick to the foot rim. Minor handling wear, just a very small amount of stacking wear in the centre of the saucer.
