    About this item

Pretty 19th century Coalport cup and saucer of slightly waisted form with entwined handle, c.1845.

Fine gilded decoration, inside and out, both pieces marked with pattern number 4 over 769 in gilt and the saucer with impressed cross mark also.

    The saucer measures 14.3cm (5 5/8") wide and 2.5cm (1") high. The cup measures 6.2cm (2 3/8") high, 9.2cm (3 5/8") rim to rim and 12cm (4 3/4") rim to handle, a very practical size for use.

Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. A little wear to the gilding on the saucer rim in places; very light wear otherwise. A small section of wear to the gilding on the cup to the right of the handle but again otherwise wear is minimal. Both have a small firing fault to the foot mentioned for completeness.
