About this item
An early 19th century, pearlware mug with pratt coloured decoration. This is hand painted with floral sprigs in ochre, green and brown. It dates from c.1810 and the decoration is quite naive, typical of prattware of the period. The mug is lightly potted, with a blue tint to the glaze, and there is a patch on the rim of the mug where this blue glaze has puddled. There is slight stress cracking to the base of the mug but this is only visible on the exterior. Otherwise the piece is in very good condition.
