About this item
First Period Worcester lozenge shape dessert dish painted underglaze with the Rubber Tree Plant pattern, c.1775. With decorative branches and pseudo Chinese marks to the reverse as is specific to this pattern.
Referenced in Worcester Blue & White Porcelain 1751-1790, Branyan, French & Sandon, section I.E.47, classed as "uncommon".
It measures 9 1/8" (23cm) wide, 6 3/4" (17.3cm) deep and 1 3/4" (4.5cm) high.
Condition is excellent: the foot rim has been polished and there is a small slither chip to the area. No other damage or restoration and surface wear is really minimal, it has clearly been very little used. A very nice example.
