English Polychrome Enameled Raised Comport c 1880

This raised comport measure 9 3/8 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall. The use of enamel decoration under and over glazes on earthenware was a development that occurred essentially in the third quarter of the Nineteenth Century.
A Butterfly and wild grasses in surreal landscapes with detailed hand painting.
The piece is in great condition. Clean shiny and bright and there are no chips, no cracks, no hairline and no repairs.
