About this item
A charming Derby porcelain model of a pointer shown prowling across a naturalistic base covered in flowers and propped against a well modelled tree trunk with applied leaves to the reverse. The dog in liver and white with a beautiful doleful face with detailed markings. c.1800-1820, marked with the number 34 in enamel under the base.

It measures 16.5cm (6 1/2") long, 10.2cm (4") high and 7cm (2 3/4") deep.
Condition is very good. There has been a very good quality repair to the base of the tail where it has been reattached. Some of the leaves on the tree trunk at the back have been broken and the raw edges have been touched up and the colour match and tone is perfect. There has been a tiny frit to the front edge of his left ear. No other damage, repair or restoration and very minor handling wear.
