About this item
A pretty early Worcester porcelain blue and white porcelain butter boat, printed in "the rose and running border pattern", c.1760-65. Moulded overlapping leaves form the outside of the bowl and base, blue crescent mark to base. Shaped rim with small looped handle.
Reference "Worcester Blue & White Porcelain 1751-1790" by Branyan, French & Sandon, section II.C.5 and described as rare.
It measures 3 1/2" (9cm) long, 2 5/8" (6.8cm) wide and 1 1/5" (3.7cm) high.
Condition is very good; there are 2 tiny chips, one under the handle thumb rest and the other outside the edge of the rim. No other damage or restoration and surface wear is very light.
