About this item
Unusual first period Worcester trio in a monochrome green/camieau vert palette with painted flowers and leaves, c.1770. Comprising a coffee cup, tea bowl and saucer, each piece has gilded rims and further gilded band around the feet and saucer well. Provenance: the J. S. Cook collection.
The cup measures 6.5cm (2 1/2") high, 6cm (2 3/8") rim to rim and 8cm (3 1/4") rim to handle. The tea bowl is 4cm (1 5/8") high and 7.5cm (3") wide and the saucer is 3cm (1 1/8") high and 13cm (5 1/8") wide.
Condition is good overall: there are 3 small nicks to the cup rim and a small patch of discolouration associated with one. No damage otherwise or restoration. Very little wear to the enamel but a few spots of wear to the gilding.
