About this item
Pretty first period Worcester dessert plate with lobed shape and basket-weave textured outer border with gilt dentil rim. The centre is finely painted in bright enamels with a "fancy birds" pattern in the manner of George Davis, depicting a scene of exotic pheasants in a beautifully detailed landscape with scattered birds and butterflies around the outside.
Referenced in "Coloured Worcester Porcelain Of The First Period" by Marshall, plate 31, item 686.
It measures 8 1/8" (20.7cm) wide and 1 1/4" (3.2cm) high.
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration and light surface wear.
