ANTIQUE CHILDS ALPHABET ABC MUG
E IS FOR ELEPHANT
F IS FOR FOX
Staffordshire England c. 1840
This small 2 5/8 " high x 2 7/8 " wide, excluding the applied handle, children’s mug is transfer printed in black and hand painted in red and green under the pearlware glaze. The mug is lightweight and beautifully potted.
One side has an upper and lower case letter ~ E ~ with a transfer of a Elephants and an Eagle.
E is for Elephant, monstrous and high.
The other side of the mug has an upper and lower case ~ F ~ with a transfer of Fox, Forks and farm.
F begins Fox, and we know he is sly.
The mug is in great clean condition.
