About this item
Lovely early Worcester shallow dish/plate with fluted rim and painted in the Dragon In Compartments pattern in bright polychrome enamels, c.1770. Unusual primary colours of red, blue, purple, green and yellow make this an ever desirable pattern. It has a previous collection reference number printed to the reverse but this will remove with a solvent if required. There is an inscribed squiggle in the glaze which may be the Wigornia mark but I can't be certain.
It measures 8 3/8" wide and 1 3/8" high.
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. There is some light surface wear in places.
