About this item
A fine Worcester porcelain tea canister with a blue scale ground with shaped reserves busily painted in a kakiemon palette with a loose Japanese type pattern of a jabberwocky type creature and phoenix amongst a landscape on one side and a phoenix alone on the other. Smaller reserves filled with flowering branches. Gilt ornamentation edging the reserves and detailing the neck and foot. Blue fretted square mark, c.1770.
It measures 14cm (5 1/2") high and 8cm (3 1/8") wide.
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and minimal handling wear.
